Galaxy Digital acquires former Celsius-owned self-hosted platform GK8 for $44M

According to CoinDesk, Galaxy Digital completed the acquisition of Celsius’s institutional self-custody platform GK8 for $44 million. GK8 solution services will continue to be provided to the market, and Galaxy will integrate the technology into its upcoming crypto brokerage platform GalaxyOne. Celsius acquired GK8 in November 2021 for $115 million at a discount of more than 60% to its valuation. Foresight News previously reported that Celsius filed for bankruptcy protection in July last year and sold several assets, including GK8.
