BitKeep announced that in response to the previous incident where the 729 APK installation package was hijacked by hackers and some users’ funds were stolen, BitKeep has advanced the user’s losses in advance and completed the first batch of payment. As of March 1, a total of 6,731 stolen wallets have passed the audit. At present, 50% of the funds have been paid to all damaged users who have passed the compensation audit, and the remaining 50% is expected to be paid in one go in the first half of this month. During the process of claiming compensation in February, users with doubtful login status and damaged addresses entered the appeal process. As of February 28, a total of 3,857 complaints have been generated, and BitKeep has completed the review of all of them. A total of 2,785 addresses confirmed that the appeal was successful. The reasons for the failure of the appeal include not finding the login information of the hacker package, or using the hacker package to store damaged tokens, and address fraud. BitKeep will push the appeal results within this week and start the second batch of compensation claim process, and will issue full compensation payments to users who pass the review before the middle of this month.
