OpenAI launches GPT-4, the latest version of a large language model. According to CNBC, this version is "bigger" than previous versions, meaning it has been trained on more data and has more weights in the model file, making it more expensive to run. OpenAI says the new model will produce fewer wrong answers, get off track and talk about taboo topics less often, and even outperform humans on many standardized tests. For example, GPT-4 scores in the top 10% or so of test-takers on the mock bar exam, in the top 7% or so on the SAT Reading test, and in the top 11% or so on the SAT Math test.
