Odaily Planet Daily News According to Nikkei News recently reported that the Japanese government announced that it will introduce real cashless payment for the first time at the 2025 Osaka World Expo. At its core is the use of an app called the "EXPO 2025 Digital Wallet". Not only does the app support e-money and points, it will also support NFTs.
Shibo Yoshida, president of HashPort Group, the developer of the application, said that the cooperation between HashPort and the 2025 Osaka World Expo will cover the following four parts:
- EXPO 2025 Digital Wallet: A mobile app that serves as a portal for other financial institutions to provide services including e-money, reward point programs, status services, and NFT unique to the Osaka Expo.
- Wallet ID infrastructure: ID infrastructure, users can register and log in with a single ID in various financial services and related services provided by the Osaka World Expo.
- Web 3 Wallet: A wallet for storing SBT and NFT issued in cooperation with Pavilion and external companies.
- SBT Digital Passport: It is the infrastructure linking the cooperation between EXPO 2025 digital wallet and various exhibition halls and partners.
According to Yoshida Shibo, the latter two collaborations will be implemented using the Palette Chain developed by HashPalette, a subsidiary of HashPort.
He also pointed out that Osaka Expo 2025 is expected to attract more than 28 million visitors, and if more than 10 million people experience Web3 for the first time, we think it will become a historic event. HashPort Group, as the only blockchain company selected by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan as one of the "100 start-ups in cooperation with the government", will integrate technical capabilities to promote the Web3 revolution in Japan through the Osaka World Expo.
It was previously reported in April that HashPort, a Japanese Web3 start-up company, completed over 1.2 billion yen (8.9 million U.S. dollars) in Series C financing through a third-party allotment of shares. Investors include UTEC (Tokyo University Edge Capital Partners), Yusaku Maezawa and Sumitomo Mitsui. bank. HashPort’s total funding so far is approximately 2 billion yen ($14.8 million).
It is reported that HashPort Group has been committed to the research and development of blockchain technology since 2018. Its subsidiaries include HashPort, which is engaged in blockchain-related consulting and system solution business, and Hash Palette, which is engaged in NFT-related business.
