Odaily Planet Daily News Mark Yusko, founder of Morgan Creek Capital Management, said on the CoinDesk TV First Mover program that Bitcoin is the world's largest cryptocurrency by market value, and its price may reach $300,000 by 2028.
Yusko made this prediction while comparing Bitcoin to gold. He explained that gold is not portable or divisible, whereas Bitcoin is. Yusko added, “Bitcoin solves both of the above problems and is equally scarce. The monetary value of gold is about $6 trillion, and I think Bitcoin can replace all of these and reach 10 times that number. By 2028, Bitcoin price may reach $300,000, at which point Bitcoin will undergo another halving event.” (CoinDesk)
According to previous reports, Mark Yusko said in an interview with CNBC that Bitcoin and the encryption market are in the early stages of a new round of bull market, which may last until next year, when Bitcoin will experience the next halving. “I think the rally is just getting started. We’re just entering the so-called crypto summer. The Bitcoin halving will lead to a period of accumulation. The halving event is expected to happen in April of next year. There is usually a speculative mania peak after the halving event , followed by an overreaction to the downtrend, known as a crypto winter.”
Mark Yusko also reiterated what he believes to be the most important use case for Bitcoin, which is Bitcoin's potential to replace gold as the base layer of money.
