Odaily Planet Daily News According to reports, three members of the U.S. Senate have sent letters to the White House and the Treasury Department in an attempt to crack down on North Korea's use of cryptocurrencies to fund its nuclear program and evade sanctions.
Senators Elizabeth Warren, Tim Kaine and Chris Van Hollen asked the Biden administration to provide information on how the U.S. government is working to address North Korea's illicit use of digital assets. The letter cites reports that North Korean hackers have stolen more than $3 billion worth of cryptocurrencies since 2018, funds that have been used to fund parts of the country’s missile program.
