Odaily Planet Daily News The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) announced that it has awarded more than $104 million to seven whistleblowers whose information and assistance enabled the SEC enforcement action and another agency-related action to be successful. The amount is the fourth largest in the history of the SEC whistleblower program.
It is reported that the seven whistleblowers are composed of two groups of joint whistleblowers and three individual whistleblowers, and the information provided by each group of whistleblowers either prompted the SEC to investigate or played a significant role in the SEC's investigation. Assistance to staff by the seven individuals included providing documents that would assist law enforcement with allegations of misconduct, participating in interviews and identifying potential witnesses.
