Odaily Planet Daily News EOS Network Foundation urges the EOS community to reject the Block.one settlement agreement. After reviewing the agreement, it believes that the proposed settlement with Block.one is not in the best interests of the EOS network and the entire EOS community. The settlement failed to adequately compensate community members for losses suffered as a result of Block.one's misrepresentation and misconduct, and furthermore, the settlement limited the right of class members to seek a fair and equitable resolution of their claims in the future.
The proposed settlement amount is reported to be $22 million, a fraction of the $4 billion Block.one raised in its ICO sale and the $1 billion it pledged to invest in the EOS network and community. While EOS community members who join the solution may recover some of their losses, under the terms of the settlement, community members who join the solution will be barred from bringing any future claims against Block.one and its founders.
Therefore, ENF urges community members to opt out of the solution. The deadline for opting out is August 29, 2023. If they fail to opt out before this date, they may be automatically included in a class action lawsuit and will affect future interest in Block.one Right to File a Claim.
