Although technically still restricted, combinable modules and an open economy without permission are still possible. This is the advantage of on-chain games. Based on past experience, the advantage of games that can attract players for a long time is the ability to create new content through mods and open economies. Mods enable third-party developers to expand on the original game's vision, resulting in iconic games like DoTA. And an open economy (such as the economy in EVE games) allows players to create complex social and economic systems. Paradigm admits that on-chain games will continue to face technical limitations and obstacles. The existing infrastructure and developer tools are limited, especially the EVM is slow and clumsy, the existing Solidity data model is not conducive to complex game development, and there is no main network chain suitable as a game deployment target (considering the high cost and low scale ). On-chain games must also contend with real money markets, MEV, and economic exploitation. Paradigm believes that Rollup scalability and cost reduction, along with game-specific blockchain infrastructure development, will help address these issues.
