Christine Kim, Vice President of Galaxy Research, posted a summary of the 112th Ethereum Core Developer Consensus Meeting. This week, developers discussed including the builder override flag in the Engine API, increasing the target blob limit from 2 to 3, and increasing the maximum blob limit from 4. Upwards to 6, and ongoing research around changing validator max effective balances. The increase in blob capacity was proposed by Ethereum Foundation researcher Dankrad Feist after conducting data experiments to test the network capacity of processing large blocks. Parithosh Jayanthi of the DevOps team at the Ethereum Foundation said that all EL and CL client teams have passed the relevant Hive tests for Devnet #7. His team plans to launch Devnet #7 as early as June 30th or July 3rd. Devnet #7 is a dedicated short-lived testnet for EIP-4844, no other code changes will be tested. Additionally, developers are preparing to decommission the public Goerli test network by the end of the year. To replace Goerli, the Ethereum client team is launching a new testnet called Holesky, which will host an active validator set larger than Goerli and the Ethereum mainnet.
