U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville and others wrote to the U.S. Department of Justice and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), hoping to investigate Prometheum’s statement on Chinese investment in the digital asset securities full-service market, stating that “making false statements to Congress is a crime. The filing of false or misleading statements in SEC filings constitutes securities fraud, and these relationships with Prometheum are deeply concerning to each of us and many of our colleagues in Congress.” Most of the House Republicans who signed the letter are members of the House Financial Services Committee, which has jurisdiction over the SEC.
