Circle CEO: Stablecoins are more helpful for yuan internationalization than CBDC

Circle CEO Jeremy Allaire told the South China Morning Post that China is unlikely to open up to cryptocurrencies, but “if the Chinese government ultimately wants to see the yuan used more freely in global trade and commerce, then stablecoins may is a better way to do this than a central bank digital currency.”
