Li Dazhi, vice president of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, wrote in "Hui Si" on the 9th that FPS (Hong Kong's fast payment system FPS) has been launched for nearly 4 years. As of the end of August, it has reached 10.9 million registrations, and the usage has continued to grow steadily. Relevant government departments have cooperated with the Digital Currency Research Institute of the People's Bank of China, and Hong Kong has become the first cross-border pilot of digital renminbi outside the mainland to conduct technical tests. At present, the technical test has entered the second stage. The main test is to add value to the digital RMB wallet through FPS. The scope and scale of the test have also been expanded. The number of participating banks has increased from 1 to 4. The current progress is good, and more digital currency will be introduced in due course. Renminbi operating agencies and local banks participated in the test so that Hong Kong residents can use digital renminbi in the mainland in the future.
