Lawyer and cryptocurrency supporter John Deaton published an article on the X platform criticizing the Lightning Network, believing that it is not as effective as the "Spend the Bits" protocol on XRPL. At the same time, Deaton disclosed that he is an angel investor in Spend the Bits and is also the company’s chief legal officer.
Deaton praised Spend the Bits in September as a more secure way to use Bitcoin than the Lightning Network. (Cointelegraph)
According to previous news, Bitcoin Core core developer /dev/fd0 announced on the X platform that it will stop participating in the development of the Lightning Network and its implementation, including coordinating and handling protocol-level security issues.
Additionally, /dev/fd0 indicates that each Bitcoin node has its own memory pool. Transactions are forwarded by peer nodes. If an LN node is used to open a channel and accept HTLC forwarding, it is vulnerable to substitution loop attacks.
