Fox reporter Eleanor Terrett posted on the X platform that SBF’s lawyer pointed out that SBF will testify in the fraud trial, in addition to three defense witnesses.
Earlier news, the U.S. Department of Justice said in a document filed on Tuesday that Sam Bankman-Fried's defense team may call six potential witnesses after prosecutors complete their case presentation this week. The U.S. Department of Justice document did not disclose any potential defense The names of the witnesses and it is unclear whether SBF will testify in court. The Justice Department also said it now plans to call only one witness when the trial resumes on Thursday.
A previous filing on Monday said the defense planned to call PF2 Securities employee Joseph Pimbley as an expert witness on capital flows. Additionally, the document states that if the defense rests Thursday or Friday morning, the government implores the court to hold a charging conference on Friday afternoon to allow the parties to make closing arguments Monday morning.
