BRC-20 founder domo released a security improvement proposal and proposed a new core feature called "fraction", aiming to improve the token transfer experience for all users. Domo stated that given that simplicity is a basic principle of the BRC-20 standard, the proposal to introduce additional core functions is made after careful consideration and is not mandatory.
Domo stated that there is currently a problem with BRC-20, that is, the current protocol allows anyone to create a transmission inscription sent to any address. While this accessibility is fundamental to the Inscription tool’s application, it also opens the door for potential attackers to compromise users’ balances and interfere with their activities. By incorporating the fraction function directly into the brc-20 protocol, specific validity conditions can be enforced on the transport. This measure is designed to deter attackers by making it more difficult and costly to perform such interference.
