Osaka Digital Exchange (ODX), a proprietary trading system (PTS) created by SBI Holdings, announced that CBOE has become its new major investor. Market makers Virtu and Optiver also participated in the investment. In June last year, ODX began trading traditional securities and plans to launch digital securities this year.
Existing investors in ODX include Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group (SMBC), Nomura Securities and Daiwa Securities. Previously, SMBC held 20% of the shares, while Nomura and Daiwa each held 5%. After the latest round of funding, SBI said it remains the majority shareholder. On the cryptocurrency side, in addition to Zodia, SBI’s interests include B2C2 and cryptocurrency exchange SBI VC Trade and an investment in Börse Stuttgart Digital. (Ledgerinsights)
