A U.S. court has dismissed a defamation lawsuit filed by DFINITY, developer of decentralized computing platform Internet Computer (ICP), against blockchain analytics platform Arkham Intelligence and the New York Times (NYT).
Arkham and the New York Times previously published reports on the collapse of ICP in 2021, and DFINITY claimed that the relevant reports were untrue. Presiding judge Lewis Kaplan said: "Arkham's claim that DFINITY insiders defrauded billions of dollars by dumping ICP on the exchange does not constitute defamation. For the same reason, the New York Times is not liable." (Reuters) society)
