The chief judge of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York rejected plaintiff Shawn Dolifka’s application for a class action lawsuit against Tether and Bitfinex, and Dolifka decided not to appeal.
The judge ultimately ruled in favor of Tether and Bitfinex, dismissing the lawsuit. Tether said in a statement that Dolifka’s decision to waive its right to appeal was the right decision, that its claims were completely without merit and that further litigation would not bring any financial or other benefit to it or its lawyers. Tether emphasized that they will never fall victim to shameless legal blackmail.
