Optimism, a layer-2 solution for Ethereum, tweeted again to warn Profanity about the risks, saying that if users store assets on addresses created using Profanity’s virtual address generator, they will be at risk of chain-independent exploits. In order to ensure the security of assets, users are strongly advised to transfer funds to addresses not generated using this tool as soon as possible. Foresight News previously reported that the 1inch security disclosure report stated that some Ethereum addresses created through a tool called Profanity have serious vulnerabilities. Previously, SlowMist reminded that the possible reason for the theft of $160 million in assets from Wintermute was the wallet created using the Profanity tool.
