At the 8th Blockchain Global Summit hosted by Wanxiang Blockchain Labs, Scroll co-founder Zhang Ye delivered a keynote speech on "Scroll Design and Architecture". Scroll is building an EVM-equivalent ZK Rollup. Design decisions follow security, efficiency, EVM equivalence, and decentralization. Its architecture consists of three parts: Scroll nodes, smart contracts on the chain, and a decentralized prover network. Scroll has currently completed the pre-Alhpa test network, and the second phase will invite developers to deploy some smart contracts based on its network and develop some additional applications; the third phase will start the outsourcing of the two-layer proof, inviting the community to participate in becoming Proof node; the fourth stage reaches the zkEVM main network stage, which will be deployed and launched on the main network after strict code audit and performance improvement; the fifth stage will deploy a decentralized sorter to make zkEVM more efficient.
