Crypto news website Forkast has laid off employees this year and ultimately decided to suspend editorial operations on November 30, people familiar with the matter said.
Forkast Labs has laid off most of its editorial staff as part of its merger with data provider CryptoSlam, according to multiple people familiar with the matter. Forkast.News merged with CryptoSlam in January to launch new brand Forkast Labs to create a “Web3-centric data intelligence and media platform.” However, the cryptocurrency news site appears to have stopped publishing articles and video content last month, with its last post dated November 22. The website currently reads, "Forkast.News is now Forkast Labs."
In an internal memo shared with employees last month, Forkast wrote: "Due to the merger of Forkast and CryptoSlam earlier this year, most of the editorial operations have been integrated into Forkast Labs. Going forward, there will be a greater focus on the data side, and the entire team will focus on Launch new data products.” (The Block)
