"We are submitting this letter on behalf of our client, SBF, to update the court on the status of post-trial motions," attorneys for SBF said in a Dec. 1 letter to Judge Lewis Kaplan. "After further consideration, we have decided not to file any Post-trial motion. We reserve the right to appeal."
Legal experts believe that the SBF's decision to abandon post-trial motions indicates that the team is currently preparing an appeal. It is reported that SBF's lawyers (especially Mark Cohen) insisted that he was innocent and said that they would "continue to actively respond to the accusations against him."
Lawyers for SBF also made a request for bail, but it was rejected by District Judge Joyann Ferguson Pratt, saying he was a potential flight risk. The next hearing on SBF is scheduled for February 8, 2024. (IBTimes)
It was previously reported that SBF was found guilty by a jury on seven counts. His sentencing will take place on March 28, 2024.
