Brazil's federal police have raided six cryptocurrency exchanges as they investigate tax evasion and money laundering involving cryptocurrencies, CoinDesk reported. As part of a joint enforcement operation with Brazil's tax authorities, the federal police are executing 101 orders issued by the Criminal Court of Sao Paulo, including two arrest warrants and 37 search and seizure warrants, according to official police reports. In addition, the police ordered the freezing of approximately $238 million in assets and securities held by those under investigation, and seized an undisclosed amount of virtual assets held by 28 exchanges under investigation.
