StarkWare announced that it will launch the Regenesis program after the release of Cairo 1.0 at the end of 2022. After the launch, StarkNet will only be applicable to contracts based on Cairo 1.0 and will start from a new genesis block with an existing state. In Q1 2023, StarkNet will be updated to support Cairo 1.0, with the goal of migrating to a fully Cairo 1.0-based network by the end of Q1. In addition, regarding the StarkNet token that was originally scheduled to be launched in September, StarkWare member odin_free said in Discord that there are currently several things that need to be fine-tuned, and relevant information will be further updated later. In July, StarkWare announced that it plans to launch StarkNet tokens on the chain in September this year, with a total of 10 billion. The tokens will be used for governance and as payment fees and mortgage assets for the network.
