According to data from Bitcoin obituary tracker 99bitcoins, mainstream media announced Bitcoin’s “death” only seven times in 2023, the lowest frequency in a decade. The most recent was Bitcoin bull and billionaire tech investor Chamath Palihapitiya declaring “cryptocurrency is dead in the United States” on the All-In podcast on April 22. He seemed to be making his comments in the context of over-regulation.
It is reported that Bitcoin has been declared "dead" 474 times since 2010. Additionally, the company found that more than half of this year’s obituaries occurred in January, close to the cryptocurrency’s deep bear period. (Cointelegraph)
