Injective announced that it will complete the Volan mainnet upgrade and enable new features on Thursday (January 11).
Previous news on January 2, Injective announced that the Volan upgrade has been successfully run on the Injective test network.
According to the official introduction, the Volan upgrade will introduce the following features to Injective:
-Sub-second block time: enables fast transactions and reduces the risk of front-running transactions and MEV attacks;
-IBC integration: enabling interoperability with the Cosmos ecosystem and other IBC-supported chains;
-Supports CosmWasm smart contracts: allows developers to create diverse applications using multiple programming languages;
-Compatible with EVM: lowers the threshold for developers to migrate applications;
-Introducing a governance module: enabling INJ token holders to participate in the network decision-making process.
It is reported that this upgrade requires a hard fork of the Injective network, which means that all nodes and validators must update their software to the latest version.
