At least 18 U.S. senators support cryptocurrencies, according to new data from Coinbase’s nonprofit advocacy group Stand with Crypto. Among them, Republican Senators Cynthia Lummis and Ted Burr are currently the most pro-cryptocurrency politicians in the U.S. Senate. Lummis has promoted 8 crypto bills and 184 public statements on cryptocurrency, and Burr has 8 bills and 24 statements. Republican Senators Ted Cruz and Bill Hagerty introduced a total of five bills and 92 statements.
Of the 18 senators who have taken a favorable stance on cryptocurrencies, 14 of them are Republicans. Only four are Democrats. However, a total of 30 senators are reported to be staunchly opposed to cryptocurrencies, of which 23 are Democrats, 5 are Republicans, and 2 are independents. (Cointelegraph)
