Dennis Porter, founder of Satoshi Action Fund, posted on the passed laws and discussed our proposed 2024 bills in Indiana, Missouri, Nebraska and Virginia.
The New York Times reports on the effectiveness of our ‘right to dig’ legislation in stopping discrimination across Arkansas. Arkansas is the first state in the nation to pass a Satoshi Action model policy.
Just before our “right to mine” bill took effect in Arkansas, the vast majority of the state’s counties (49 out of 76 counties) passed discriminatory noise ordinances to discourage miners from operating. Thanks to the passage of the “Right to Mining” (Act 851), all these discriminatory decrees will no longer be in force. In fact, these laws have been challenged one by one. Late last year, one of the discriminatory noise ordinances was struck down by a judge. Without our laws, they would have successfully driven the Bitcoin mining industry out of Arkansas based on blatant and targeted discrimination.
Virginia, Tennessee, Missouri, Indiana and Nebraska have introduced bills to protect your rights, and 11 other states are ready to join the fight. Once passed, these bills will protect your rights to: access to Bitcoin, the right to self-custody, the right to mine, and the right to run a node. "
