Ethereum Name Service Partners With GoDaddy To Link Internet Domains To ENS Addresses

According to CoinDesk, Ethereum Name Service (ENS), a domain name protocol built on Ethereum, has reached an agreement with GoDaddy, the largest internet domain registry, to allow users to link their internet domains to ENS addresses for free. This partnership may indicate a renewed interest in connecting blockchain with traditional technologies, as Web3 adoption by mainstream companies slowed down during the bear market. Nick Johnson, the founder of ENS, explained that users can now set up a wallet by entering their address on the GoDaddy page, making their domain a wallet identifier for all intents and purposes. The ultimate goal is to integrate more chains beyond Ethereum, allowing users to set addresses for all chains and create their Web3 profile. This partnership comes as ENS is still in court with GoDaddy over the sale of an ENS domain 'eth.link'. Despite the ongoing legal dispute, Johnson believes that naming and Web3 work better when building on top of existing systems rather than reinventing everything from scratch.
