Bithumb’s account cooperation plan with Kookmin Bank encounters obstacles

Bithumb’s plan to change its real-name account issuance partner bank has been blocked. It attempted to form a partnership with Kookmin Bank instead of the existing Nonghyup Bank, but this was aborted due to intervention by financial authorities. According to sources from financial authorities and the banking industry, Kookmin Bank notified Bithumb last week that it “will not enter into a contract for the issuance of real-name accounts.” Bithumb currently has a real-name account issuance contract with Nonghyup Bank, which will expire on the 24th of next month.
