ByteTrade Lab and the FHL Vive Center at the University of California, Berkeley announced a collaboration to launch the decentralized AI infrastructure project GaiaNet.
According to reports, GaiaNet is a decentralized network that provides secure, censorship-resistant and monetizable artificial intelligence agents that combine personal proprietary knowledge and skills while protecting privacy. GaiaNet builds a distributed network of edge computing nodes controlled by individuals and enterprises, hosting fine-tuned artificial intelligence models based on the proprietary domain knowledge of node operators.
Each GiaiaNet node is a digital twin of a real-world expert or personality, such as a university assistant, high school teacher, cryptocurrency trader, or customer service agent, performing skilled knowledge tasks on behalf of its creator or operator. At the FHL Vive Center, it promotes the adoption of small language models to provide interactive and educational artificial intelligence teaching assistant services to a wide range of student communities.
