On April 10, at the Sui Basecamp event in Paris, Meltem Demirors, head of Aspiring Cult, gave a speech titled "Trillion-Dollar Market Opportunities: Everything on the Chain".
Meltem asked: "Let's work backwards from the future to the present. In 2040, the world's investment in infrastructure will reach 100 trillion US dollars. Where will this money come from?"
She explained that from 2010 to 2024, the total market value of the world's top infrastructure companies increased from 2 trillion US dollars to 16 trillion US dollars, and the structure also changed significantly (the transition from finance to technology). In terms of trend, machines are growing, and the market around machines (such as energy, computing power, and ID) is active. From an investment perspective, we cannot break away from the physical laws of the real world, and data flow still requires hardware.
Combining these factors, Meltem believes that the new financial stack will be combined with blockchain networks. The Bitcoin network is already the most secure and independent financial network in the world, providing a good example of "how the underlying protocol makes end users willing to pay for block space." The investment themes for the next decade will focus on energy, computing power networks and digital currencies.
