According to U.Today, David Schwartz, the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Ripple Labs, has expressed his disagreement with Elon Musk's proposed policy against AI bots on the X platform. Musk, the tech entrepreneur, plans to introduce a small annual fee for new users on the platform before they can interact with posts. Musk believes this is the only solution to combat AI bots and troll farms, which he claims are currently able to bypass the 'are you a bot' test with ease.
Schwartz, however, views this as a form of censorship, accusing Musk of suppressing free speech on the platform. He argues that Musk is introducing measures to censor lawful speech on the X platform 'just because it's annoying,' and is altering the fundamental dynamics of the site to make this possible. Schwartz has previously accused Musk of violating his own principles of permitting free speech, particularly in light of a recent lawsuit Musk's X Corp lost against CCDH for publications that criticized X Corp.
Meanwhile, several Dogecoin accounts have expressed support for Musk's anti-bot measure. They suggested that the proposed fee for new X users could be paid in Dogecoin rather than in fiat currency. Despite the community's hopes for Musk to implement Dogecoin payments on the X social media network, Musk has not mentioned this possibility since purchasing Twitter for $44 billion.
