US sanctions Russian LockBit ransomware group leader

The United States announced sanctions on the leader of the Russian LockBit ransomware organization. (Jinshi) Previously, Tether had added LockBit-related addresses (starting with 0xf370) to the blacklist. The UK National Crime Agency (NCA) also announced that it had controlled multiple services of LockBit and dismantled its entire criminal gang. In addition, the U.S. Treasury Department announced on its official website that it had added Bitcoin and Ethereum addresses related to the Russian ransomware organization LockBit's affiliates to the sanctions list. The U.S. Treasury Department pointed out that this action was the first action in the ongoing cooperation with the U.S. Department of Justice, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and international partners against LockBit.
