According to U.Today, Billy Markus, co-founder of the meme cryptocurrency Dogecoin, has humorously predicted his future income source. In a recent tweet, Markus asked his two million followers about their expectations for the next five years. In response to his own question, he expressed a desire for robots to take over his job and generate passive income for him. This suggests that Markus anticipates leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) for income generation in the near future.
Earlier this year, Scientific American reported on initial experiments integrating OpenAI’s ChatGPT into robots. This integration is expected to enable robots to self-learn about their ever-changing environment, thereby facilitating their use in everyday life. However, OpenAI's product has faced criticism from tech entrepreneur Elon Musk. Musk, founder of the AI start-up xAI, has accused OpenAI and other tech companies of training AI to be socially agreeable and politically correct, or 'woke'.
Musk argues that AI should be trained to be as honest and curious as possible. He warns that 'woke' AI could potentially lead to humanity's downfall, as depicted in the sci-fi movie '2001: A Space Odyssey'. In the film, a robot kills the entire crew after being forced to lie to them. Musk believes that AI will eventually surpass biological life, serving primarily as a 'backstop or buffer of intelligence'. He predicts that within the next three years, AI will be capable of writing novels on par with J.K. Rowling, discovering new principles of physics, and generally outperforming humans in all areas.
