Chain detective ZachXBT posted on X that MEV engineer @pokerbrat2019 (Robert Robb) has recently pleaded guilty to his MEV bot investment fraud scheme and now faces up to 20 years in prison.
ZachXBT published an article in December 2023 detailing more than 11 victimized investors and revealing Robert Robb's criminal background.
Victim users found that after Robb received investor funds in his Coinbase account, he used them for personal expenses such as sports tickets, luxury cars and travel. He was arrested in Las Vegas in March this year.
In December last year, ZachXBT posted on the X platform that MEV engineer @pokerbrat2019 (Robert Robb) raised at least $1.2 million from 11 people earlier that year for various MEV bots (independent of Rampage), and claimed that these bots would be put into use soon. But after initially agreeing to return the funds due to numerous launch delays, he repeatedly delayed the refunds with a variety of excuses, including health issues, exchange problems, extortion, and family problems.
ZachXBT said Robb pleaded guilty in 2002 after defrauding investors of $4 million (used for cars and gambling), and was sentenced to three years in prison for fraud in 2007 after stealing funds from more than 10 victims in Colorado.
