Social media giant Meta (formerly Facebook) is planning to bring “entirely new types of gameplay” to its metaverse by combining generative AI technology with virtual, augmented, and mixed reality games.
Meta hopes to use generative AI to research and prototype new “consumer experiences” such as games that are “non-deterministic, personalized, and change every time you play.”
According to recent job postings, Meta is offering experts who advance its AI metaverse vision a $347,000 annual salary, plus bonuses, equity, and benefits. Inductees will initially work in its metaverse-building division, Reality Labs, while also working with company executives.
Meta noted that the position’s focus will initially be on Horizon, a mixed reality gaming ecosystem built on its integrated game creation system, but could expand to include non-Meta platforms such as mobile devices and PCs in the future. Another key job responsibility for the position is to create tools that accelerate content creation on the Meta platform. (Cointelegraph)
