Antonia Perez Hernandez and Nestor Nunez pleaded guilty to wire fraud conspiracy charges related to the Forcount scam at a hearing on July 22, 2024, in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. Hernandez, Nunez and others are accused of defrauding $8.4 million from primarily Spanish-speaking investors between 2017 and 2021 by falsely claiming that crypto trading and mining through Forcount would yield lucrative returns.
Among the five defendants indicted in 2022, Juan Tacuri also pleaded guilty. He was one of the promoters who held seminars across the United States to persuade investors to sign up for Forcount. Under a deal reached with prosecutors in June, he agreed to forfeit approximately $4 million and property purchased with victim funds.
