Nasdaq and BlackRock plan to list options on their spot Ethereum ETF and start trading.
According to a document posted on the U.S. SEC website on Tuesday, BlackRock and Nasdaq ISE, LLC proposed a rule change to launch iShares Ethereum Trust (code: ETHA) options.
The document reads: "The exchange believes that offering options on the trust will benefit investors by providing them with a relatively low-cost investment tool to gain exposure to spot Ethereum and as a hedging tool to meet their investment needs related to Ethereum products and positions."
Comments on the proposal will be submitted within 21 days. Bloomberg analyst James Seyffart said the SEC may make a final decision on the proposal in early April 2025. (The Block)
