According to official news, Web3 voucher and reward platform Galxe announced the launch of its L1 blockchain Gravity Alpha mainnet. After several weeks of operation in stealth mode, the Gravity Alpha mainnet has executed a large number of transactions and is expected to achieve approximately 40 million transactions in the first month.
Based on the Arbitrum Nitro stack and leveraging the combined capabilities of Galxe, Conduit, and Celestia, the Gravity Alpha mainnet provides a more efficient, scalable, and secure way to manage complex cross-chain interactions. Through seamless compatibility with Ethereum, it will minimize friction and maximize potential. The launch of the Alpha mainnet will bring all of Galxe's products (including Quest, Compass, Passport, and GalxeIdentity Protocol) onto the chain, providing a "more cohesive experience" for its more than 25 million active users.
In addition, the Gravity Alpha mainnet will upgrade Galxe's infrastructure, involving comprehensive on-chain tasks, smart savings, G tokens and their staking.
Future plans include an upgraded version of Smart Savings (introducing liquidity staking and DeFi), Galxe Passport & fractional migration, and Galxe identity protocol on-chain utility.
The Alpha mainnet will also support "chain-agnostic gas payments", which will allow users to pay transaction fees using their Galxe ecosystem balance. Currently, the fully operational Gravity mainnet is expected to be launched in Q2 2025.
In addition, from August 20, 2024 to September 20, 2024, all users of the Alpha mainnet will enjoy gas-free transactions for the first 30 transactions.
