South Africa's Largest Supermarket Chain Pick n Pay Will Support Bitcoin Payments at All Cashiers

According to Business Insider, Pick n Pay, a large supermarket chain in South Africa, said after a successful initial pilot that testing of the Bitcoin Lightning system has gone well and that it now intends to accept Bitcoin payments at checkouts in all of its stores in the next few months. There are 39 already accepting bitcoin transactions. Pick n Pay was one of the first major retailers in Africa to test the Lightning Network, with the supermarket chain experimenting with crypto payments at a cafeteria store at its headquarters in 2017.
