Paul Grewal, chief legal officer at Coinbase, said in an interview with Bloomberg that "Coinbase has reached out to representatives of Kamala Harris and Donald Trump's campaign to discuss their efforts to engage with the industry ahead of the US election in November."
Coinbase's chief legal officer said that Trump's campaign has been "clear" in supporting cryptocurrency policies, but he hinted that Harris' officials also seem to be open to digital assets.
"We are encouraged that while the current US government continues to regulate through law enforcement under the leadership of US SEC Chairman Gary Gensler, the Harris campaign has contacted us to express interest and begin discussions about what a new approach to cryptocurrency and digital assets might look like," Grewal said.
