Former Alameda Research CEO Caroline Ellison will be sentenced on September 24. She may receive a lenient sentence at the recommendation of US prosecutors.
In court documents filed on September 17, US prosecutors mentioned that Ellison gave "high cooperation" in the case against former FTX CEO SBF and assisted in investigating "wrongful conduct of Alameda Research and FTX." Prosecutors said she provided "credible and powerful testimony" to the trial and confessed her serious misconduct in the FTX collapse.
Prosecutors appear to blame SBF for most of the crimes in the indictment, but acknowledged that Ellison "voluntarily participated in misconduct" as Alameda CEO.
Ellison has previously pleaded guilty to seven counts of fraud and money laundering, and his lawyers requested that he be sentenced to full prison time and three years of supervised release. (Cointelegraph)
