Deribit: $5.8 billion worth of BTC quarterly options expiration may trigger market volatility

BTC options contracts worth $5.8 billion and Ethereum options contracts worth $1.9 billion are about to expire and settle this Friday. Deribit CEO Luuk Strijers said, "About 20% of the BTC options that are about to expire are in-the-money options. This larger expiration may increase market volatility or trading activity as traders close or roll over their positions, which may also affect prices." (Coindesk)
