Chain Detective ZachXBT published an investigation on X into UK-based Faris Ali (Zay/Tommy) and his alleged role in a June 2024 home invasion robbery of an X user for $4.3 million following a crypto data breach.
On June 18, a victim posted on X that he had been robbed earlier that day and was forced to transfer $4.3 million to two addresses. At the time of writing, most of the funds remain dormant.
Shortly after being flagged by the victim, he began investigating and obtained chat logs between the two perpetrators hours before the robbery. Faris/Tommy discussed with an accomplice how they planned to pretend to deliver a package to the victim's home and shared photos of their door. They then sent a photo of the victim's building and a photo confirming that they were dressed as three delivery drivers outside the victim's door.
A few weeks ago, Faris/Tommy, who had a criminal record, showed a photo of himself on bail to friends on Telegram, revealing his identity in the process.
After the heist, someone registered an ENS domain farisali.eth and sent a message on-chain.
