With just two weeks until American citizens go to the polls to choose the next president, Warren Buffett said he will not endorse any political candidates. The 94-year-old billionaire issued a statement on his Berkshire Hathaway website, hoping to put an end to rumors on the Internet that Buffett supports political candidates and investment products.
"Given the increasing use of social media, fraudulent claims that Mr. Buffett endorses investment products and endorses political candidates have emerged," the statement reads. "Buffett does not currently and will not prospectively endorse investment products or endorse and support political candidates." Buffett has supported Democratic candidates in the past, and he endorsed Hillary Clinton against Trump in the 2016 election. (Jin Shi)
