Coinbase announced this week that it has reached an agreement with the NBA's Golden State Warriors, and as part of the deal, the cryptocurrency exchange's branding will appear prominently at the Warriors' Chase Center and on the team's limited-edition merchandise. The trading platform will also offer on-chain giveaways and game-day activations for Warriors fans. Coinbase did not disclose official terms of the deal, including transaction costs and duration.
"Our exclusive partnership with the Golden State Warriors gives fans an easy and fun way to try it out," Kate Rouch, chief marketing officer at Coinbase, said in a statement. "We're excited to bring Dub Nation on-chain."
Cryptocurrency companies have closed three times as many sports-related deals so far this year than in 2023, CoinGecko data shows. (Decrypt)
