Vinay Gupta, a technologist who helped coordinate the launch of Ethereum, says he is looking to push sane crypto policy on President-elect Donald Trump’s transition team.
In addition, inspired in part by Trump’s landslide victory on Election Day, Gupta is considering relocating himself and his team at UK-based blockchain company Mattereum to the US. “We plan to move people (including me) to Washington, D.C. soon to help with the crypto transition in the US,” he added.
Vinay Gupta said part of his plan includes replicating some of the policies he helped develop in the UK, including a recently introduced parliamentary bill that sought to formally define crypto assets as property and a successful push to have smart contracts recognized as “actual contracts” in the country.
