Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev recently highlighted the huge efficiency advantages of cryptocurrency operations, arguing that the cryptocurrency business model is superior to traditional finance in terms of cost and customer service.
Tenev told CNBC on November 12 that the cost of running a cryptocurrency business is “roughly an order of magnitude lower than traditional financial services.” He emphasized that blockchain technology significantly reduces transaction and operating costs, providing crypto platforms with significant competitive advantages.
He added that these cost savings allow cryptocurrency exchanges to offer features such as fractional asset trading and 24/7 market access, advantages that traditional financial systems struggle to match.
While many industries are still debating the future of digital assets, Tenev sees cryptocurrencies as a key component of the next generation of financial services. The current regulatory environment is heavily influenced by the U.S. SEC, causing many crypto innovations to move overseas.
Tenev believes, however, that the Trump administration's recent announcements could pave the way for a more relaxed regulatory approach in the United States. (CryptoSlate)
